Koh Tachai (Tachai Island) lies about halfway between the Surin and Similan Islands and is rated as one of the best sites for Thailand scuba liveaboards. It’s reachable in one hour from Khao Lak. Known and loved for its beauty, the diving and snorkeling here is sublime. Not only does this site have beautiful corals but that are many large fish here so it good for snorkeling. There are leopard sharks, nurse sharks and eagle rays. Hawksbill turtle and whale sharks are regular visitors of this water. Here is a lovely island with a long white beach, beautiful waters, rocky outcrops and a small mountain viewpoint.
