The Phuket FantaSea show is “Fantasy of a Kingdom”, a roughly 70-minute theatrical production staged in the Palace of the Elephants theatre in Kamala. It runs normally once per operating evening at 9:00 pm, with the theatre gate opening around 8:20 pm, and retells Thai legend through folk dance, acrobatics, magic and illusion, aerial performance, pyrotechnics, special effects and live elephants. Show-only tickets start from around 1,800 THB, with buffet and Gold Seat upgrades available.

What the show is

Fantasy of a Kingdom

The FantaSea show is a single large-scale production called “Fantasy of a Kingdom”, performed in the purpose-built Palace of the Elephants theatre. Rather than a variety bill, it follows a narrative rooted in Thai legend and mythology, using stagecraft to move between scenes: classical dance, acrobatics, magic and illusion, aerial work, pyrotechnics and special effects, with live elephants appearing as part of the cast. The park lists a company of well over a hundred performers.

How long it runs

The performance is approximately 70 minutes. On most operating evenings it’s staged once, at 9:00 pm, though the park notes it may be performed once or twice on some pre-announced dates.

Timings to plan around

The standard schedule is a 9:00 pm performance with the theatre gate opening at around 8:20 pm. Where a second performance is added, it falls earlier in the evening. Crucially, the park does not open every night — it runs on selected evenings and alternates with neighbouring Carnival Magic — so confirm the timetable for your specific dates rather than assuming a nightly show.

Photography rules

What you can and can’t shoot

Photography and video are restricted inside the theatre during the performance — flash photography and filming of the show itself are not permitted, and some operators describe cameras as not allowed in the auditorium at all. Everywhere else is fair game: the cultural village, the elephant areas, the Festival Village street and the park’s architecture are where most visitors take their photos. Check the current on-site policy when you arrive.

The FantaSea show is a seated, narrative theatre production; the Carnival Magic show is a moving parade in an open paradium.
